Born on the 24th of June, 1970, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal is a Lagos State former commissioner.

He started his career as a Scientific Officer with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council at the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in the year 1994.

The Oba joined the Nigerian Police Force. He was commissioned as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent.

He held different positions while in the force and retired voluntarity in 2008. He was a Superintendent of Police as at that time.
Oba Lawal was appointed SSA to Gov. Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) on special projects.

He was also the coordinator of the Agriculture- Based Youth Empowerment Scheme (Agric-YES).

Thanks to his outstanding services, he was appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Housing by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in October 2015.

He succeeded late Oba Idowu Abiodun, former Oniru of Iruland, who passed on in 2019 at the age of 82 as the 15th Oniru of Iruland.
