Born on the 22nd of February, 1974, Mohammed Umar Bago is a Nigerian politician and philanthropist.He ran in the 9th National Assembly, contesting for Speaker House of Representatives of Nigeria and came second to Femi Gbajabiamila.
Umar had his primary education at the Marafa Primary School, Minna and secondary at the Federal Government College Jos.
He has a degree in political science from the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.
After education, he worked with the United Bank for Africa (UBA), First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Afri-Bank PLC respectively.
He got into politics in the year 2007 and chairs the House Committee on Maritime Safety, Education and Administration.
Bago lives with his wife and children. He recently bought 1000 jamb forms for his people and distributed 11 trailer loads of rice as a palliative of Covid-19 pandemic to his people.
