He is the father of top Kannywood actor, Ali Nuhi and died on the 9th of July, 2020.
He was the former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State.

Born on the 2nd of November, 1941 at Gelenchu, Bauchi State, Nigeria, Hon. Nuhu Poloma was the Gombe ex-PDP Chairman.He is the son of Mallam Yarda Poloma, a teacher and Madam Sindaba Poloma, a housewife and he had five other siblings.
Hon. Nuhu had his elementary school at the S.I.M. Schools Gelengu and Kano from the year 1951 to the year 1958.
He attended the P.R.T. School in Kaduna from 1963 to 1964 and obtained a Territorial Training Certificate.
From 1963 to 1964, he was at the Federal Training Center in Kaduna and he got a Certificate in Secreteriat STudies.
In 1975, Hon. Poloma moved to the United States of America's Foreign College of Customs in Washington D.C and got a diploma in customs and international intelligience.
He was promoted to Senior Assistant Collector of Customs in the year 1976 and became the Director of Yankari Dallas LTD from 1976 to 1979.
He got married to Mrs. Ansa Poloma (nee Obong) and they had four children together.
The honorable represented the N/P.N. in Tangale-waja North, Bauch State in the House of Representatives.
He died on the 8th of July, 2020.
