He had his education at the Midwest College, Warri, the Anglican Grammar School and a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Benin.
RMD returned to the University of Lagos to study law, and he graduated in 2004.

He firth got married to a Nigerian publisher and journalist, May Ellen-Ezekiel who died in 1996 and he remarried a TV personality, Jumobi Adegbesan.
