According to reports, the singer was abandoned by his father over 20 years, and they reconciled barely a year ago, when Diamond was already popular.
During a visit to his son one day, Mr. Juma said;

I have realized Diamond is not on the wrong. I am the one who slipped. I already made peace with his mum. I thereafter saw it wise to look for Diamond and ask for his forgiveness.

Last year a video went viral in which the old man was told not to take his breakfast on the dining table his son Diamond and his fiancée Tanasha uses. 
He has been spotted in the streets again, and there are rumors Diamond has thrown him out.

Diamond Platnumz has not commented on the matter.
