‘My Friends Don’t Call Me By My Name Cos It Sounds Gay’ - Nigerian Man Laments

A Nigerian man who goes by the name, Dearest Osas has lamented as his friends find it hard calling him by his name. According to him, they think it sounds gay addressing a guy by his name, Dearest and so don't find it easy.
He added that the men should be able to address him by his name without attaching any masculine feelings to it.
Many social media users reacted, stating that they're not saying that it is bad being gay, but the name sounds much like it is.
In a tweet, @DearestOsasO lamented further;
In the space of 24hrs, i’ve encountered 2 Nigerian men who’ve told me that they feel “uncomfortable” calling me by my own name, Dearest. I think that’s really sad. How are you so far out of touch with yourself that you think calling my name might have you judge yourself as gay?
