‘I Will Not Be Richer Than Imo When I Leave Office’ - Uzodinma Replies Okorocha
March 17, 2021Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State have taken a swipe at his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, stating that he would not be richer than Imo State, when he leaves office. This was an indirect reply to Senator Okororcha, who boasted that he was richer than the Imo State government in a viral video, a comment that drew lots of criticism to the former governor.
Okororcha and Uzodinma have been having a running political feud, almost since the later assumed office as governor of Imo State.
There has been the issue of supremacy in the party, with Okororcha backing the Daniel Nwafor faction, while Uzodinma backed the Marcon Nlemigbo faction, in a battle that have torn the party apart in the State.
The governor had also accused Okororcha, of begging him to turn a blind eye to his sins while in office, and traced their battle to his refusal to ascend to Okororcha’ s pleas.
Uzodinma’ s move, to implement the report of the Judicial Panel, set up by Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, to probe Okororcha, which led to the seizure of Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha's hotel, and Okororcha’s eventual arrest, has also helped in creating more enmity between them.
