Ama Qamata was born on September 2nd, 1998 in 1998 in Cala, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She and her family moved to Johannesburg when she turned three.

She participated in dramatic productions while in school and subsequently, she appeared in advertisements for McDonald's and Cheese Curls.

Education

Ama Qamata attended and graduated from Reddam House School in 2016. Thereafter, she took a gap year before she enrolled at the University of Cape Town (UCT) where she earned her degree in Theatre and Performance.

However, she withdrew from the university in her second year. 

Career

Ama Qamata's acting career started when she was 17. She debuted in the Television drama 'My Perfect Family' where she played the character Nalendi.

The show was aired by the Television network SABC1.

Also in 2020, Ama Qamata played the character Bhule in the television series Gomora.

In the same year, she played in the teen drama series 'Blood & Water.' She played the character 'Puleng Khumalo' in the teen drama series.
