Baba Fryo started his music career in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria. He could be described as a street or ghetto singer and his story could be likened to a 'Grass to Grace' story.
He became popular in the country after he released his major hit, Dem Go Dey Pose, which got Nigerians dancing at the time.
His songs were mostly written and sang in Nigerian pidgin English.

However, in March 2021, Baba Fryo took to his social media page again to call out new generation singers from Ajegunle, Lagos, describing them as an ungrateful generation who never appreciated the opportunities given to them.
Then, in November 2021, Baba Fryo called out Davido on his social media for not coming to his aid when he made a call for help in 2020.
