Broderick Stephen Harvey professionally and famously known as Steve Harvey is an all-round American entertainer, comedian, television host, radio personality, actor and an author.

He was born by Eloise Harvey and Jesse Harvey in Welch, West Virginia, United States and he is the youngest of five children. He started his career as a stand-up comedian and would later progress to become an actor.

His fame came through his flagship show, The Steve Harvey Show that ran from 1996 to 2002.  He became a household name and other shows followed. Shows such as ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show’, the ‘Steve Harvey Talk Show’, Family Feud’, Little Big Sots’, and the ‘Steve Harvey Funderdome.’

Steve Harvey was born into a humble home where his mother was a Sunday-school teacher and his father, a coal miner by profession.

Steve Harvey’s career might have kicked off on October 8, 1985 when he performed his first stand-up comedy on stage at the Hilarities Comedy Club in Cleveland Ohio. He gave an outstanding performance. He would later perform at small clubs before e it a big one.

He made it to the second edition of the Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search Finals in the 1990 and there was where and when he gained popularity for his talent.

However, before the American entertainer began his career in comedy. He worked as an auto worker, carpet cleaner, insurance salesperson and a mailman. 

After the 1990 Johnnie Walker Comedy Search, his stint earned him the opportunity to host the music TV show ‘It’s Showtime at the Apollo.’

In August 2012, Steve Harvey ended his 27-year-old long journey as a stand-up comedian when he presented his last performance as a stand-up comedian at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

One month later, he debuted with the self-titled talk show titled, ‘Steve Harvey.’ The show ran until 2016 when he launched a new talk show he called ‘Steve’ in November, 2016.

He also hosts a weekday-morning radio program he calls ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show,’ which started airing in 2005 and has continued to air until now.
