Zainab Marwa was born in Bauchi State into a multi-tribal and multilingual family with a mother, Chief Mrs. Zainab Marwa, of an Igbo tribe (Imo state) and an Adamawa father, Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (RETD).
She is the last in the family of four.
Education
Zainab Marwa went to 14 different schools in Nigeria which includes the Essence International School in Kaduna.
The reasons for attending as many schools were as a result of her father being a military man and having to move from one place to another for service.
Thereafter, she proceeded for her foundation, degree, and masters in the United States and the United Kingdom. At 19, Zainab Marwa graduated from the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom. Also, she earned her Masters' degree in Service Management in the same school.
In 2017, she was accepted into the School of Built Environment for Ph.D. Studies in Disaster Management at the University of Salford.
Personal Life
Zainab Marwa who is known as a renowned barrister in Nigeria is married to her soul mate, Dr. Abdulkadir Abubakar who shares and supports her passion for service to humanity.
She is a mother of four children and she has deliberately devoted a decade of her life to having and raising her children in the way her heart desires while focusing on her NGO.
Career
Zainab Marwa Abubakar in an interview revealed that while his siblings said what they wanted to be when her uncle asked them many years ago, she said she wanted to be a mother.
However, Zainab's career would begin when she was called to Nigerian Bar in 2004. Thereafter, she completed her NYSC where she served as a teacher. She later worked in one of the top consulting firms in the country.
Also, she served in the presidency in SERVICOM in a triple capacity as the Special Assistant to the National Coordinator of SERVICOM.
She also served as a training consultant for Government MDA's for the SERVICOM institute run by DFID. There, she ran more than 60 workshops for broad MDA's and as the Head of the complaints Department of all SERVICOM units all over the world.
Zainab Marwa Abubakar started her NGO, Zawram Foundation, as a result of her passion for service to God and mankind.
Her NGO is aimed at raising funds to cater for the less fortunate, bring relief and comfort to the needy, reinstate peace through interfaith and cultural dialogue, knowledge sharing, and improving the quality of life for mankind.
Zainab Marwa Abubakar's motivation for starting her NGO would be after her visit to ABU Teaching Hospital where she had an encounter with a young girl who suffered from cancer of the eye.
The need to live to help others was birthed in her immediately and she worked on starting an NGO which she launched in 2006 and legally registered in 2014.
In 2019, Zainab AMarwa Abubakar contested for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the general election. It was to focus on the behavioral aspect of women which will engender the complete happiness desired by every woman.
This passion will lead her into building her organization, Aspire Women Forum which is aimed at ensuring complete happiness for Nigerian women regardless of their race, color, status, or creed.
