Mayormike, Twisted Is Maxzy, Boy Kazzy, Others Set To Perform At The Make Music Owerri Maiden Edition
June 17, 2022After months of planning, it has been announced that Make Music Day 2022 celebrations will kickoff across Lagos and other Nigerian cities (Owerri, Abuja, Uyo, Ibadan, & Ado-Ekiti). The event will kick off on 16th June and run till 26th June 2022 with a host of FREE Concerts, Open Mic Nights and other exciting FREE music-related events (Learn to Play, Learn to DJ, Music Business Conference, Songwriting and Artist Bootcamps etc.) to electrify music fans.
The announcement was made in Lagos on 9th June at a well-attended press conference organized by Make Music Nigeria, the organization saddled with the responsibility of overseeing Make Music Day celebrations in Nigeria, and its partners (Showgear, Zannoza Entertainment, IPC Events, Schullz66, and IMPREVA International)- with support from TuneCore, Slice Media and Grand Nigeria Business news.
In the Make Music Owerri organised by Julob Media, guest artists that will be performing include; Mayormike, Twisted Is Maxzy, Boy Kazzy, Icon, Creedo, Eddy-nwapa and others. Comedians that will be performing include; MC Badmouth, MC Freedom, Don Jay, amongst others.
Partners include; Cue Bar Owerri, Busy.ng, Browse.ng, Banters Cliq, Agbagbaya Gang and E&E Travels and Tours.
The event, which is held in commemoration of the World Music Day (21st June), is now in its 7th consecutive year in Nigeria and promises to be extra-special as it also marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the global celebration which was first celebrated as Fête de la Musique in Paris in 1982 under the direction Jack Lang (then Minister of Culture of France) and Maurice Fleuret.
The Owerri maiden edition is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 26th of June, 2022.
